There are two words that best describe Hawke's Bay and they are Wine Country - but there is much more than wine to this sunny region.
Blessed with fertile soils and a warm, temperate climate, Hawke’s Bay is among New Zealand’s leading producers of wine; notably red wines – cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah – and stunning chardonnays. Hawke’s Bay is the first stop on the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail and is a popular place for bicycle wine tours with many of the region’s 30+ cellar doors, and numerous artisan producers, connected by 200km of flat, easy riding cycle trails.
Stay at Mangapapa Hotel, set amongst acres of beautiful orchards and gardens, offering stunning boutique, luxury accommodation in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. The hotel rooms are located in various positions around the property, offering privacy and seclusion. All accommodation guests enjoy the use of complimentary WiFi, and the hotel facilities including a spa, sauna, gym, lawn tennis, bike hire, and the seasonal outdoor pool.
Find your inner peace by spending time in the Mangapapa Spa Sanctuary, followed by A fine dining, five-course experience, uniquely created every evening, inspired by the fresh, seasonal produce from the hotel kitchen garden.
Indulge in the delights of Hawkes Bay Wine Country on your exclusive wine tours. You’ll be chauffeured in style – with luxury, privacy, and sophistication unmatched by traditional group tours. As a small, private tour, we prefer to visit the boutique wineries which truly reflect the Hawke’s Bay terroir and take the time to meet and chat with the passionate people who create NZ’s iconic wines.
Enjoy lunch at the Craggy Range Restaurant which offers an intimate, comfortable & relaxed space to enjoy Head Chef Casey McDonald’s Hawke's Bay menu alongside Craggy Range wines.
Te Mata Peak is at the western boundary of the wine-producing Heretaunga Plains and stands nearly 400 meters above sea level. From the summit of the peak, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Ruahine, Kaweka and Maungaharuru Ranges and Cape Kidnappers. The volcano Ruapehu, in the centre of Tongariro National Park, is also visible on a clear day.
Hawke’s Bay is New Zealand’s Art Deco capital, with the city of Napier rebuilt in the architectural styles of the time following the devastating 1931 earthquake. Discover the town through a private vintage car tour. Or: Enjoy a cooking class at Farmhouse Kitchen Cooking School, where we offer you hands-on cooking classes, preparing nourishing food in a comfortable, relaxed setting. Our wide variety of classes offer something for everyone, from beginner to experienced cooks, using quality, seasonal produce, much of it from our own gardens.
