Highlights

Day 1: Departure Wellington - Martinborough - 2 nights (including dinner)
Coming from Wellington, you drive over the winding Remutaka Hill road. Halfway down, there’s a corner where the whole vista of the Wairarapa opens up before you, bush-clad ranges to the west across flat plains to a rugged coast on the east.
Packed with colonial charm, Martinborough features over 20 wineries, most within walking distance of the quaint village square. We take you to the best local wine tasting rooms and enjoy a beer at Martinborough's Brewery and Tasting Room. Finally, explore the quaint, picturesque village square, where you'll find several heritage buildings.

Day 2: Martinborough - Day Trip to Cape Pallister
The road to Cape Palliser is dramatically scenic. This area of New Zealand has a rich history of early Maori occupation, and heritage sites are part of the fascinating landscape. The road along the coast provided unstoppable views of Palliser Bay. Check out the quirky fishing village of Ngawihi before you drive on to the lighthouse. The fur seal colony at the cape is the North Island's largest. The Putangirua Pinnacles are some of the most amazing rock formations you will ever see; you can explore the river valley if you have sturdy shoes. In the evening, enjoy beautiful sites in the vines of Tirohana's Estate Restaurant, the perfect place to try some premium cuisine and wine.

Day 3: Martinborough - Greytown - Napier - 2 nights (including dinner)
Historic Greytown is home to excellent examples of Victorian colonial architecture that line the main street. Greytown's eclectic mix of independent boutiques, art galleries, antique stores, and cafes make it one of New Zealand's premier shopping destinations. Refuel at the chocolate studio, and enjoy local produce at the many stylish cafes and restaurants. Or find out more about this region at the Cobblestone Heritage Center. On our way to the coast, we stock up on pastries at the famous Clareville Bakery. Napier, located in Hawke's Bay, has beautifully preserved 1930s architecture, which is the city's special point of difference.

Day 4: Napier - Discover Hawkes Bay Food and Wine Country
You’ll hear the dramatic story of the 1931 earthquake and discover Art Deco, the style of the times in the 1930s, on a private guided walk through Napier’s Art Deco Quarter, including visits to the interiors of some of the most stunning examples of this architectural style in the city. Te Mata Peak is at the western boundary of the wine-producing Heretaunga Plains and stands nearly 400 meters above sea level. From the summit of the peak, you can enjoy panoramic views. After midday, enjoys a few Wine tastings across Hawkes bay, including the world-famous Gimblett Gravels. Learn about the stories of cheese - from an expert world-class cheesemaker Juliet Harbutt. Finally, enjoy exclusive gourmet food and wine tour, ending with a garden plate Cuisine at its finest Craggy Range Winery.

Day 5: Departure from Hawkes Bay
(We are happy to take you back by car to Wellington, extra charges)
