NZ House & Garden, Stuff - Special Event

Should the scheduled NZ House & Garden Tour dates be impacted by government imposed restrictions as a result of COVID-19, Stuff will endeavour to reschedule the Tours to new dates. As a result, Aroha Luxury New Zealand Tours will reschedule the House Tours Luxury Packages in line with the new Tour dates. 

All bookings for the House Tours Luxury Packages will automatically be transferred to the new dates, with the option to cancel the booking. You will have 10 days from the date Aroha Luxury New Zealand Tours sends a postponement notice to you, to communicate in writing to Aroha Luxury New Zealand Tours  that you wish to cancel the booking.

  • If the booking is cancelled before 30 days from the rescheduled dates of the House Tours Luxury Packages, the booking will be refunded, less a $100 non-refundable deposit and administrative costs.
  • If the booking is cancelled within 30 days from the rescheduled dates of the House Tours Luxury Packages, the booking will be refunded up to but not exceeding 75%  of the booking, excluding transaction fees. The remaining non-refunded amount will be retained to cover reasonable cancellation costs for hotels and activity operators. Where hoteliers have a flexible policy on date changes to bookings, Aroha Luxury New Zealand Tours will make its best endeavours to negotiate on behalf of the booker to retain the hotel booking for future use or at a time that suits the booker.

Where hoteliers have a flexible policy on date changes to bookings, Aroha Luxury New Zealand Tours will make its best endeavours to negotiate on behalf of the booker to retain the hotel booking for future use or at a time that suits the booker.  This includes if the participant is feeling unwell and follows Ministry of Health advice to stay home.

GENERAL DOMESTIC BOOKINGS - COVID19
A separate Cancellation Policy Applies if the cancellation is due to COVID 19 restrictions. If a cancellation is necessary due to government travel restrictions, Aroha NZ Tours will use its best endeavours to provide the customer with x 2 free date changes or travel credit specific to the package purchased (subject to availability and not guaranteed unless confirmed by property/tour provider).

GENERAL TOUR BOOKINGS

Currency   
All prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include New Zealand Goods and Service Tax (GST) of 15%.

Deposit/Booking Fee  
On confirmation of a final itinerary, the client agrees to pay a NZ$500 per person booking fee. This amount is not refundable! This will allow Aroha Luxury New Zealand Tours Ltd to make the necessary bookings for the itinerary to ensure firm bookings are held for the client. 

Payments/Cancellation (bookings after 31.12.2021)
The final payment of the balance is due 45 days in advance before you arrive in New Zealand. For general bookings, 30 - 14 days have a 50% cancellation fee; 100% is charged if cancellation is within 14 days of arrival. For VIP Travel, 100% is charged if cancellation is within 30 days of arrival. (Some of the VIP lodges haven additional stricter Terms and conditions, which we will indicate on the day of booking). The booking fee of NZ$500pp is NON-refundable but can be used for other travel arrangements if dates are moved within 1 year of the original travel date.

Aroha Luxury New Zealand Tours Limited will make every effort to refund part of your trip cost, but we cannot guarantee that our travel partners will do the same. For this reason, we strongly encourage you to purchase trip insurance! (Bank fees are NON-refundable). Should any amounts remain outstanding and legal costs are incurred to recover the debt, then Aroha Luxury New Zealand Tours Limited has the right to add the legal costs incurred to the outstanding debt and recover these as well from the client. Should it be necessary to take legal action against the client, the client accepts and abides by any court or legal ruling that is made under New Zealand jurisdiction.

We accept payment by credit card for smaller charges up to NZ$5000 (for which there is a 3% surcharge). A receipt will be issued for payments received. Failure to pay the deposit may result in your travel arrangements being cancelled.

PREMIUM VIP TOUR BOOKINGS

All year except any travel between 15 December – 06 January and 15 December – 06 January
Balance payment is due no later than 90 days before the date of arrival in New Zealand. Where a booking is made within 90 days of commencement of travel, the total trip cost is required at the time of booking. A travel invoice will be issued and will be payable immediately.

Domestic Flights
General domestic flight tickets will be charged on the day of booking and are non-refundable. Flexi Plus fares are fully refundable up until departure. (If indicated in payment inclusion) This also applies to tickets booked for the guide, which are needed to get to the proposed location in each itinerary.

Amendments
After the original booking has been confirmed, any modification or alteration will incur a charge of NZ$500. This does not apply to additional optional tours or extensions of your tour, and there will be no charge if the modification or alteration will incur only minor costs.

Travel Insurance  
Aroha New Zealand Tours strongly recommends that you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy at the time of booking, which should cover medical expenses, loss of baggage, cancellation fees, etc. Your travel agent will be able to advise and assist you with this.

Law 
The law of New Zealand applies to contracts and disputes, and they shall be resolved within a New Zealand court. In addition, any fines, debts, and/or legal costs incurred by the client while in the country for any infringements made are the client's sole responsibility.

Risks
Adventure activities have an element of risk, and all clients need to realize that there is no guarantee of safety. Aroha New Zealand Tours Limited reserves the right not to run any activity if, in our opinion, the circumstances make the activity too dangerous (e.g. weather conditions, flooded rivers, etc.).

Liability 
Aroha New Zealand Tours Limited takes all reasonable steps to provide an enjoyable tour. However, we sometimes travel through areas severely affected by weather conditions, causing disruptions to itineraries and schedules. Assistance will be provided to make alternative arrangements when and where practicable. Still, no liability is accepted for either disruption or if any operator temporarily withdraws a service for whatever reason. Aroha New Zealand Tours Limited is not liable for any event beyond our control, including (but not limited to) war, severe weather conditions, natural disasters, industrial actions, etc. We do not accept any liability for failure on the part of transport companies, hotel contractors, or other principals. Further, the liabilities of air carriers and other principals participating in the tour are limited as specified in their tickets, conditions of contract, and/or conditions of carriage and tariffs. While we take all reasonable care in selecting operators which services are included in your tour, e.g. hoteliers, airlines, and optional/booked tour excursions, we cannot accept responsibility for those operators’ conduct or the conduct of their employees.

Disclaimer 
Aroha New Zealand Tours Limited has made all reasonable efforts to check the accuracy of the information contained on this site. However, we cannot accept any responsibility for any errors or omissions that may appear.

Accommodation
We use quality accommodation providers who are handpicked and have great hosts. All rooms are modern with either a private en-suite or a private bathroom.

Dining
Many of the luxury lodges include pre-dinner drinks with canapés and a seasonal gourmet dinner at the lodge. (Indicated in inclusion) Some also include complimentary mini-bar, including domestic beers. We refer to each individual “terms and conditions” of each stay.

If we have decided not to include lunches and dinners in the package, we are happy to provide a list of the best restaurants nearby. So should you have one of our driver guides? Then they will be happy to transfer you to the restaurants and collect you after dinner. Our guides are not available as a general taxi service if you decide to go to the pub or have a late-night out due to their work time obligations (please see below Guiding Obligations).

Lunches are generally not included, but some of the activities will include lunches; this will be indicated in the itinerary and inclusions.
Special dietary needs can be catered for.

If you have opted for one of our self-drive tours, lunches and dinners will generally not be included unless they have been specified in your itinerary either at one of your activities or at the lodge you may be staying at. However, your accommodation provider will be able to suggest good local restaurants.

Activities
We pride ourselves on offering a wide range of activities in your tour package. We have chosen those that we feel will enhance your New Zealand experience. You can participate in as many or as few as you like. If you cannot participate in any activity or there are weather or safety restrictions, alternatives will be provided where possible.

Transport
For guided tours:
All of our fleets are new model luxurious vehicles and are dependable, practical, and efficient. All our vehicles are purpose-built touring vehicles equipped with the latest low emission and road safety technology. Comfort is guaranteed by having ample legroom.

Guiding (if indicated in the itinerary)
Throughout your visit, you will be accompanied by an experienced and trained Aroha NZ Tour host (driver/guide). All of our guides have a licensed passenger endorsement to their driver's license, which means they have legal approval to drive paying passengers and have a first-aid certificate. They will take care of all your personal needs and basic details, leaving you the time to relax and enjoy this unique experience.

Support
You will receive detailed pre-trip information, including passport and visa requirements (if needed), packing tips, and general travel information for New Zealand. 
We have professional office staff to help you plan every aspect of your trip within New Zealand, and there is 24/7 support from our local team during your stay. 
We will provide a “Meet & Greet” service to all of our clients regardless of whether you choose a “Self Drive” or a “Private Guided Drive” tour experience.
